The problem
A city's official countdown is the one moment of the year that cannot slip, and the launch site wasn't where the show needed to be. The fleet had to get from where it could take off to where the audience was looking, over the river, without the crossing breaking the show.

The part I'm proudest of was logistical: I worked out a route that flew the drones over a bridge to reach the show position, which is what made the site work at all. From there the show was designed toward a single fixed end point, the midnight resolve. Working with the Brisbane team was a pleasure, and the time difference never got in the way.

The problem
A municipal client whose show had to read as Baltimore's own, not a generic Fourth of July package, over a dense harbor with buildings and boat traffic on every side.

The show was built from the city's own iconography: the skyline, Charm City, the Maryland crab, the Ravens, all resolving into the flag. I worked with the Mayor of Baltimore on the design: what the city wanted its residents to see in their sky, and how the show carried that.

The problem
Reveal the next year's headliners to a crowd that came for the music, in band logos they already know by heart, drawn in the sky.

The show announced Wacken 2025's headliners, band by band (Papa Roach, Gojira and the rest of the lineup), built from the bands' own logos rather than generic spectacle, and slotted into the festival's music program.

I was Creative Director on the drone segment and ran ground control on the night. The show was performed live, so it was flown in real time rather than locked to a timeline.

The problem
A drone show for an audience made entirely of fireworks professionals, the hardest crowd there is to impress with anything in the sky, sharing the airspace and the timeline with a live pyro program.

I worked directly with the fireworks companies to combine our effects, lining up the drone choreography and the pyro program so each one set the other up, instead of two shows competing for the same sky.
